Article ETLS/ AOCTAH/WACTAF facilitates the transport of shea processing machinery from Burkina Faso to Ghana

the introduction by Abdrahamane DICKO (USAID Accra) of Sofia DURRANI (Ghana Savannah Fruits Company - SFC), the West African  Association for Cross-Border Trade, in Agro-forestry-pastoral and Fisheries and Food (WACTAF) was contacted by Mr. Brahima CISSE of CILSS (Coordinator of the FARM-TRAC project and technical and financial support). Brahima CISSE of CILSS (Coordinator of the FARM-TRAC project and technical and financial support for agro-livestock road fluidity) to facilitate the movement from Burkina Faso to Ghana of 12 stainless steel contact shea crushers, 14 stainless steel contact shea mills and 25 shea roasters.

 

 

For the realization of this support to SFC, Mr. Boukary DIALLO, the AOCTAH/WACTAF manager of the agro-livestock road fluidity, contacted Mrs. Linda BADO ZOUABET of SFC to coordinate and carry out the transport of the equipment. Mr. Boukary DIALLO took the following actions:

 

  • Visit to Ouagadougou of the company in charge of manufacturing the 12 stainless steel contact shea crushers and the 14 stainless steel contact shea mills, to ensure that the equipment was being used. The 25 shea roasters still being manufactured in Bobo-Dioulasso are not included in this first phase of transport.
  • Working session with the Ghanaian Ambassador to Burkina Faso and his team to inform the Ghanaian authorities and obtain their support if necessary.
  • Working session with the Ghanaian Ambassador to Burkina Faso and his team to inform the Ghanaian authorities and obtain their support if necessary.
  • Ongoing exchanges with Burkina Faso Customs and Ghana Revenue Authory (GRA) to obtain the best conditions for processing the file.
  • Ongoing exchanges with transporters to obtain the best transport costs.

 

All conditions were met for the movement of the 12 stainless steel contact shea crushers and the 14 stainless steel contact shea mills from Ouagadougou to Tamalé.
